So, they went straight from OBD-0 to OBD-II ???
That seems rather odd...

I don't really think its that odd. I mean, while there are plenty of OBDI cars out there, OBDII is the current system. I think they jumped forward to try to get back to the current market.

I have been speaking with the ZDyne guys for over 2 years now. Every time I talk to them the OBD-I and OBD-II products are just around the corner. They have had numerous prototype cars, and still there is no release of the product. Don't get me wrong, it is a huge undertaking, and I get the feeling Bill is doing most of the work himself. After seeing the OBD-0 product, I would love to get my hands on one, but I am getting very tired of waiting...

correct me if i am wrong but the impression i got from Bill was that the SECU is OBD0 with an adaptor harness for newer OBDI and OBDII cars. i dont think anyone has cracked OBDII yet. he told me to get an OBD0 ECU to send him for the core.

That is what I understood as well...
OBD-0 with a conversion harness.

You still can't beat the Hondata for features and applications! Hmm, me thinks I'll be ordering mine within the next week

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Hondata unit several hundred dollars more than the ZDYNE and you have to keep reburning chips everytime you change the tune?

How much is the Zdyne? Also if you get the Hondata emulator you can make changes without reprogramming multiple chips. Tune it with the emulator, and then when you have it where you want burn the chip.

I haven't been following the Honda scene that closely lately but I seem to recall the ZDYNE unit selling for about $900. Isn't Hondata about $1200 plus the EPROM burner you have to buy?
